Would it affect your employment consideration if you are planning on a holiday 2-3 months into the job?

I am a fresh grad looking for my first job. I recently applied for job in a back office of a hedge fund company. The company replied with an email to reconfirm my interest, along with a few questions. One of them was to state the dates of any confirmed holidays that I would be having in the next 3 months. It is not confirmed, but I do have a holiday planned to visit my long distance boyfriend from Christmas till the first week of the new year. There was no invitation for an interview. As much as I would love to go on the holiday, I’m afraid taking a holiday would affect any employment/interview consideration.

I do have a few options.

  1. Be completely honest and let the hiring manager know that the trip is not confirmed, but I will not go if the job does not permit

  2. Let them know the ‘confirmed’ dates

  3. Do not go on the trip at all
