How do I tell potential employers that I might have to take an 8-10 week leave of absence 3-5 months into the job?
I'm graduating college in December, and looking to enter the job market immediately afterwards. I'm looking to apply to three companies (entry level sociological research / public health positions) that I already have professional connections and experience with, one of which I interned at for a whole year. I think I have a really good shot at getting the job, but the one complicating factor is that I recently got casted to be on a television show that films mid-2019 (don't have an exact date yet). The show would require me to be away from work for at least 8 weeks, as much as 10.
How do I go about bringing this up during interviews? Is it something I shouldn't mention until after I get the position? Am I obligated to let them know before hiring me? Would neglecting to mention it until after getting hired ruin my relationship with the company and potentially prevent me from being employed by them in the future?
Sorry for all the questions, I'm just at a loss for how to proceed.
