Hello and thank you for checking out my post. I'm in a pickle. I left a job to move for personal family reasons, and since then have been looking for a job for about a year, and finally I got an interview for a lower position and in the middle, they decided to interview me for a higher position and offered me that job. I was so excited, I said yes and forgot to ask about pay. I thought it would be ok though, but when I got my first check, they were paying me for the lower position. I should also mention that I want to go to a graduate school, and this job is somewhat related to the field I want to work in. However, the pay is significantly lower than the job I left (it's a similar leveled position). They also don't offer much benefits. I really don't know what to do now. My boss will be in soon, and I'm trying to figure out if I should go in and ask for higher pay, or if I should just stick it out for the experience to get a reference for school? I'm grateful for the opportunity, but the pay is really low, like I could basically go get a minimum wage job closer to my house and I might even get paid more there without having to sit in an hour traffic each way. I'm unhappy and I don't know what to do. Again, thanks for reading, and I appreciate your advice.
