Long story short, I spent the first 4 years out of college to prep for a potential career in controlled environmental agriculture (think growing lettuce for grocery stores).
I was offered a "dream job" in a rural Illinois town 8 hours away from friends and family. I turned it down because of my anxiety of moving away and starting a new life in my late 20's.
Now there is another job in the same industry but it is in Chicago. Now I would be 9 hours away from friends and family doing something in the industry but not exactly what I want to do.
I currently have a good paying job at $60k/year, but work 10hrs/day in a role and industry I do t really enjoy. I made the job change to move closer to friends. I enjoy my personal life a lot more on weekends, but have to go to bed early on weekdays because I have to wake up before 4AM to get ready for work.
Here is my dilemma. Do I take a leap of faith and move far away for a job that I believe I would like, but end up having to start a whole new life away from friends and family OR stick out a well paying job that I don't really like/want just because it is better than anything else I can get (keep in mind I will always think of my passed opportunities if only I were more adventurous)
Just difficult to make these choices going I to the new year and turning 29 in 6 months
