As the title says, my offices annual holiday party is coming up next month and me and a few other co workers work remotely. The company will compensate for all remote workers to fly in and join the holiday party. I'm new at this job, almost two months in and still struggling to find my place at the company. Going to the holiday party is obviously great for a new employee and a remote one at that. However, I'm not comfortable traveling my plane just yet and am really overthinking that if I inform HR I am not comfortable going they may take that the wrong way or..idk fire me or something lol. I recall during the interview the company saying I will fly in for meetings or annual gatherings but I don't know why I didn't expect them to have one this year so I didn't really think about it. This is my first 'real' job as well, just graduated a few months ago so I want to make the best impression possible. But with covid still lurking and living with my older parents I just don't want to risk anything just yet. Anyways, guess I need advice on how to approach this situation or if I'm just overthinking this by a lot. Or perhaps just thinking out loud lol
