Hi all, I’m currently in the midst of job hunting for my first job out of college and I can’t help but feel like entry level jobs don’t really exist.
I have a decent amount of experience in communications, but I see companies/firms trying to hire graduate interns, offering the chance of hire upon completion. An internship wouldn’t be the worst option, but I would have to commute ~1.5-2 hours each way and I don’t think the low pay/no pay would be worth it.
Does anyone have any advice for landing that first job out of college? Should I try to get an internship and hope it pans out? Does it really just take one place to take a chance on me?
For background: I have three years of hands-on education and I’ve been interning, now working with a PR firm since January. I can’t stay in my college town due to lack of opportunity/funds.
