Feeling stuck in an industry I hate, what do I do?

For the past two years I've been stuck working security after a layoff from a customer service job. I recently took a job doing loss prevention, which pays better but... is still security.

Truth be told I hate working security with a passion. My life's dream is to work in an office at a desk, even as a simple data entry clerk or an administrative assistant. I've taken a certificate online for the latter, but no matter how many entry level positions I apply for, no one seems to even consider me because of my experience in primarily security, which makes me useless in an office environment no matter how much I try to talk the customer service and computer aspects of the role up.

I really don't want to lie on my resume but I feel so trapped because of my recent experience. I feel like I will never escape security no matter what I do or how hard I try, and because I work full time I can't apply with temp agencies or anything either to get that experience or risk homelessness if I quit my current job.

It hurts every day knowing that a job I took to save myself after a layoff has permanently ruined my working life, and I just don't know what to do.
