After being involved in logistics/manual labor for far to long I’ve decided to aim for sales/office work that would be on par with my previous wages. In the last 48hours I’ve done 4 job interviews and essentially had the jobs offered. Allstate, Bankers life, Aflac, and Farmers.
I ended up going with Farmers because the recruiter was more my age, 27, and it was easier to get him to drop the salesman/recruiter pitch. He told me that essentially Farmers was looking for someone who has the finances to start up a business and operate under a Farmers dba afaik. So this did NOT seem appealing to me because I am not interested in that kind of gamble right now.
So then came the option that was suitable. I was offered to get licensed on my time but by January 10th. Farmers is providing the coursework/learning material and paying for the licensing. Once I have my license I will be able to work alongside another established agent to learn the trade. In 12 months, if Farmers goals are met from me and the agent I work with then Farmers will wave any sort of finances from myself and help me establish my own agency.
Does anyone have any experience with Farmers protege program? I have been generally succeeded at all endeavors that I undertake, I just want to hear from someone that has experience with Farmers that I made an okay choice.
