I applied to a job a few days ago that was only live for less than 3 days (it was posted on a Friday, I applied on Monday) when I applied The application process was very long and tedious- included specialized "long form answers" about my background in relation to the program's mission.
I just checked the application portal (the job has now been live for 7 days) and I clicked on my application and it said "complete." However, when I clicked on the job itself it indicated that "the position is now closed."
I won't lie that it made my heart sink. I've been feeling really jaded and still trying to keep my options open. I am not putting my eggs in one basket, but really pushed myself to finish this application that required so, so much work compared to others...hence, why I am looking for insight on what that line means.
Does this means that they're pausing the receipt of more applications or is it more likely that my application is rejected?
I am specifically asking about this instance because the job application process was so tedious and I put a lot of time and heart into my application's answers. It's quite draining to know that it all might've been thrown into the 'trash.'
Does anyone have a more clear understanding of HR signage? Is the position cancelled, my application dismissed, or is the employer simply not accepting more applications?
Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks guys!
