Really not meant to sound dumb even though it probably is haha. Long story short I’m unhappy in my chosen field and don’t see myself here long term so I’m wanting a change to find a different path. I don’t know what that is yet but that’s not the main issue right now. I’m more concerned about how I’m supposed to apply/interview for other jobs without my current boss finding out. Because 1: it would be nice to have her as a reference but if I do then she’ll know I’m looking elsewhere AND she’ll know I’m not staying in this field (I just feel bad and kind of embarrassed about that I guess because she took me on as a newbie out of uni and it feels almost like I’m throwing it in her face). And 2: if I don’t use her as a reference won’t employers/recruiters see it as a red flag or something? I guess my other concern is how do I explain a career change after only 2 years on my resume and interview, especially when I don’t even know what I actually want to do.
For context, it is a a very small workplace so we work closely together.
Any tips or advice please because I’m kinda freaking out. Thanks guys
