I lost my job when Covid hit, and spent 582 days searching for my next thing. Dozens of interviews, regular meetings with a career coach, professional re-vamp of my resume and cover letter, interview practice sessions, hours upon hours on LinkedIn and other job sites, and a major hit to my mental health, but I FINALLY got an offer for a full time job with my top choice company.
I am beyond grateful, and so thrilled for this opportunity, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't also terrified. I haven't told anyone other than my immediate family because I'm worried the other shoe will drop. Or I'm worried I won't live up to expectations. The mind-eff of a prolonged search and repeated rejection is no joke. Now that I will have insurance again, the first thing I'm going to do is sign up for therapy.
Has anyone else been through this? What did you do to make starting the new job easier?
