What does this mean

Hello! I just had a job interview and they said they will let me know in the afternoon? should I assume I didn’t get hired or what because my interview was around 11 and it was a panel interview but they said they were doing marathon interviews so I am very anxious if i should keep my hopes up pr what because I was probably the most least experienced out of everyone else applying
