My departament is 50% staffed right now, it's just me and a colleague who's been there several years and has almost 20 years in the Industry. I am brand new to both the job and industry.
Part of our role involves managing multiple inboxes, all of which are shared.
Without getting into the nitty gritty, my coworker has a company-wide reputation for being a do-nothing, though it's often said with much more hostility and in more colorful terms. People are very open in discussing that the entire team left because of him last year, lucky me to get hired into the aftermath!
That said, I waited to make up my mind, and sadly, everything proved to be true. And frankly, worse!
Anyway, after months of feeling crazy, I ran a report on our shared inboxes, it tracks which one of us answers an email.
To keep things simple,
For every 10 emails my coworker sends, I send 21.
I had a feeling that I was outperforming the guy, but that left me pretty shocked.
Any feedback on how to address and resolve?
