Not showing up for first day of work. Potential consequences?

I currently work as a waitress where I make good tips and know the system very well. I was going to transfer out to a new restaurant closer to where I go to school, though, and went for an interview on Tuesday. She said I did not “have the experience necessary” to go in as a server and would have to start off as a hostess. I said yes at the moment because I didn’t consider the drawbacks that would come with the position. She said in order to ever be promoted to a waitress, I would “have to show my dedication to the restaurant, being there about 5 days a week”… which simply does not work with my college schedule. I told her I was searching for a part-time gig since my studies are my priority, and it didn’t seem like she was gonna be super flexible with the schedule in the long run. I never signed any contract, and was told to start on Thursday at 5pm as a hostess… I’ve decided not to show up and although I know this wasn’t the courteous move, I’m wondering if there are potential consequences? I obviously have no interest in working at this new restaurant ever.

*I still have my original job as a waitress at the other restaurant, which I have decided to just stay at for the moment.
