My manager sent me home because of my piercings

I work as a server at a severely understaffed restaurant. I've had my bridge pierced before I got the job, in my interview there was 0 mention about my piercings being an issue. Then out of the blue we were handed a new dress code, no piercings visible, tattoos should be covered. No one else is following these but I was sent home because my bridge is still in and I refuse to take it out. I was basically told don't come in until it's out or a retainer is in. I'm scheduled to work today, but I guess I'm not going in?
