Leaving a great job

I’ve worked as an assistant to a mental health therapist for kids for 2yrs now. It’s incredibly rewarding, my boss is great and the pay is good. HOWEVER, I am burnt out and I’ve decided I need to leave and take time out to travel.

I’m struggling to tell my boss… we are a very small clinic of 3 staff members and I have my own caseload of children who I have strong bonds with. I’m finding it so hard to tell her I want to leave as I love the job and the kids…. Any advice appreciated!
