Just had my orientation at a new job, but I already want to leave because of the field, not the place.
I recently graduated with a degree in Kinesiology, and netted myself a job in the rehab field as a physiotherapist's assistant. However, I felt as if I had made a mistake going into this field in the 3rd year of my degree, but I told myself to stick it through and finish, which I did. I then told myself to get a job in the rehabilitation industry as to not let the degree go to waste, and today was my first day.
The facility is great, and the people seem great, but I already dread the thought of working here. It's a contract position for roughly 8 months, and I haven't actually started the work yet, and I'm torn as to whether I should quit before I even get started, or if I should stick it out and hope that I will like it. Has anyone been in a similar position?
TL;DR: I got a degree, and a job, in a field I don't like. I haven't had my first official shift, and I already don't want to work there, but I have nothing lined up. Should I stick it out and hope for the best, or leave before I get started?
