So i started my first office job about 3 months ago. Began in a bottom level position and had pretty good training. I sat with my first trainer every day as they worked both mine and her department, i saw how she did everything and after a while she gave me the reins. Learnt what to do in about 2 weeks, and a month in a was helping everyone with their work as well. I was a gun. So much so that they thought it beneficial to move me up into a higher position.
So i was keen obviously, then began the training of the new position. My new trainer is extremely bipolar, gets impatient and upset when i don’t do things properly (its my 2nd day), he is also unnecessarily thorough, which sets back our deadlines. He also constantly says he has to work in his new department and cant help me with the big important stuff, even when his boss says hes mine until i understand the systems, which hes obviously upset about.
He also just says to look at the manual to work stuff out, which does not help me at all, being a visual learner.
Also, the person i report to doesnt seem to understand its my second day doing this stuff (new systems etc) and its constantly berating me for things i have no clue about.
The cherry on top is that this is all over zoom, and we both keep cutting out and lagging. Fun.
Im very close to telling my boss i cant do this and should either move back down to my old position (which probably isnt a choice considering they already hired someone else) or just leave entirely.
