My wife has been out of work for 4 months now, I'm helping her as best I can and I am dying here... I'm helping her in her search, finding new opportunities every day and adding them to a list - so far I have found 214 positions over that period, she applied to about 60 of them, gotten about 20 phone screens, another 8 or 9 second round interviews, 1 awful job offer, 1 job she turned down because it was a bad fit and she would be miserable, and the rest were all rejections... it just feels like a kick to the gut for both of us each time, and with unemployment benefits drying up in another 2 months we are both sinking deeper and deeper into depression. I can't even imagine her working at this point and is questioning her self worth more and more with each rejection (she has a masters degree and 10 years work experience). Its really really hard and the future just feels so bleak.
I guess I just needed to vent and get it off my chest - anyone have any advice or encouragement for us?
