I always need to ask my manager about the current weeks shifts, and she always ignores me until I remind her again. What can I do?

I’m a teenager working my first job. I work weekends, and every Wednesday or Thursday I ask for this weeks shifts (they’re always different), but she always ignores me, and I have to ask again, and then I get the response

By now it’s already Friday night, not ideal

What can I do? Do I ask for the same shifts every week? Should I ask her to let me know my shifts earlier (telling her in person)?

Edit: in the future, what would happen if I stop reminding her and just take the day off and not work? Is this a bad idea?
