My boyfriend works for his parents and they have their own business.
He took the job because they promised he would take the business on after them (this won't happen, they'll just sell it for profit).
They treat him like utter shit. His dad screams in his face, threatens to sack him on the spot (illegal but he would do it anyway), swears at him, all in front of their other staff (he only does this to my boyfriend though, no one else). (he also doesn't pay him a private pension plan - not sure on the laws around that but im 90% thats not legal but I could be wrong - UK based)
His mother just allows it because her love of her husbands money outweighs her love for her son, so she doesn't like to piss him off in case the bank card gets taken away. So she just lets the blatant bullying happen.
He wants to leave but they guilt trip, tell him they'll never forgive him, that they'll give bad references- all sorts. My boyfriend has history of bad mental health (caused by them- they didn't care) and I'm always concerned that he could be hiding how much this is all actually getting to him.
I know one of the girls that works for them and even she is sick of this. She said she'd love to report my boyfriends parents for their behaviour but to who??
They own the business (based online). They rent the premises but other than that, what is there to say or do?
If anyone could help that would be brilliant- is there anyone we could report his behaviour to?
(please no comments about "He should man up" - these people have him over a barrel financially - he pisses them off, they'll sack him and then he's no way of paying his bills - so its not that simple)
