How to improve my interview skills?

Hi all,

So I have been searching for a new job for over a year with no luck. I have had seven interviews over the past 9 months and all have eventually turned me down. I've recently begun to wonder if I interview poorly, but a team member at the most recent opportunity said she liked my personality so I was a bit confused.

I asked a friend of mine for advice and he essentially said that I come across as too weak. I believe I am personable but I do have a nonconfrontational personality and he said I need to be "more of a bitch." I have never heard such advice regarding a job interview, but obviously something is not working for me so I am open to all input. Any thoughts?
