Good evening, Reddit! I am a recent college grad and am about 7 months into my first corporate job. Ive realized that I’m not happy. I’m a big people person and go most days sitting in a cubicle with little to no social interaction. I’ve been very upfront and honest with my supervisors about how I’ve been feeling and they’ve been very supportive. They have even offered to expose me to different departments within the company, but the work I’m doing is just not for me. They’re aware that I want to pursue other opportunities, but they want me to wait to apply to jobs until they’ve replaced me. They stated they would let me stay up to 3 months (longer if needed) after my replacement is hired until I find a new job. I’m concerned about this process and feel as though I’m in a very awkward position, but don’t want to burn any bridges. Any advice appreciated.
TLDR: hate my job. Want to apply to a new one, but my bosses want me to wait until my replacement is hired.
