New job, super hype! But am I gonna have to "fake it 'til I make it?"

I started a new job, and I'm really thinking this one is going to finally be a career for me. I'm going to be doing research in a field I have been working in for the last 5 or so years, making a pretty good amount, and doing something that can make a legit difference.

But looking over some notes from past researchers, and the prospect of needing to utilize GIS (a program I haven't used since 2014, and even then I barely paid attention in class), it's clear I have a whole heck ton to learn. So far I've been positive with my boss, HR, and the little I've interacted with fellow researchers, just getting a tad worried.

A small bit of impostor syndrome is kicking in. Apparently my boss wanted to hire me "asap," so fast actually that a lot of on-boarding stuff hasn't been completed yet. I'm wondering exactly what he saw in me and how I can keep that up. Kinda worried I won't perform to his expectations, but I'm all for faking it until I do indeed make it, if that's what the trick is. Any tips to not make a damn fool of myself too soon? Or is the best plan to just, gulp, be myself or something?
