Is it a good or bad idea to tell the interviewer that you’d like to eventually take a higher role in the company/organization?

I have an interview for a company that I’ve always dreamed of being a director of. Thing is, the interview is NOT for a director role but a paraprofessional one. I’m leaning towards telling them my goal but I’m conflicted.

On one end, it’ll show that I plan on sticking with the company for the long haul and genuinely like it. On the other hand, it shows that I will NOT stick with the position for the long haul.

What should I do? It’s a large company with multiple departments so there are multiple directors; this isn’t necessarily a case of climbing the ladder.
