Employment Credit Check?

I completed three interviews with a company for a temp-to-hire position. They called my references, and conducted a background check.

My recruiter called me Tuesday stating I got the job and my start date. Today, the company sent me paperwork to fill out for a credit check which they stated is required for new hires.

Has anyone else experienced this?
