Hi all, I'm feeling a bit lost right now and would really appreciate some guidance. I am a military spouse, my entire career has been spent taking any job that I can get while trying to keep it relevant to my field. I have a MBA in Healthcare Management and am currently working on a Doctorate in Health Administration. I also have coveted certifications in the field and am active in multiple professional organizations. I started working in my dream job as a Clinic Administrator in June of 2020 but was managed out in May of this year for reporting a physician at my clinic for assaulting my staff. The company made me sign a NDA and gave me a severance package.
Since then, I have applied to about 300 jobs in the metro area. I've looked into insurance, hospitals, clinics, pharmacy, consulting, etc. I've had several professionals review my resume, had a coach assist me with interview prep and have tailored my resume and cover letter to every position that I've applied for. I've worked with organizations that specialize in assisting military spouses with finding employment. My husband has been deployed all summer long so looking for a job has been my only job. I have interviewed with about 10 companies and have received great feedback about my skills and interview but have not received any offers. Many companies have been choosing internal candidates even after 8 strenuous rounds of interviews.
My family has suggested that I look for jobs outside of healthcare but I don't even know where to begin. I would love to stay in healthcare especially because I am on the tail end of completing my doctorate but this job search is incredibly demoralizing and I'm just ready to be working again.
