I have a Degree is Human Geography and a PGCE yet no one will hire me so I'm working in a supermarket again and it's making me depressed.
Hey,
I'm after some advice on how to find a career.
I got a BA degree in Human Geography 2 years ago from a British Russle group university and whilst unable to find work decided to pursue an idea of teaching so did a PGCE. Teaching secondary school kids (11-16) was an awful experience and after finishing it in 2019 then not being able to find permenant employment, i had to supply teach and a 6 month maternity cover. Following this i am now back to working in a supermarket stacking shelves.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with working in a supermarket but I feel frustrated and demoralised that I'm doing the same thing i was 5 years ago before i went to university as nobody wants to hire me, I though id just apply to lots of general office roles and got responses such as "not enough experience", "over qualifird" or "This role would be too boring".
I'm truly at a loss for what to do or where to start, i no longer want to work in teaching and am 25 so want to start a career as plenty of my other friends are off doing amazing jobs. My degree feels useless as there is no clear cut job and it's making me really depressed :(.
Am i looking for the wrong jobs or am i doing something completely wrong?
