Just had an interview at a Real Estate marketing firm! They want me to do a test campaign for one of their existing campaigns. Is this ethical?
Hi,
New to Toronto Canada. Just gave an interview at a 40 years old Real Estate Marketing Firm for the role of Associate Creative Director. It went well but I felt a bit uneasy about a couple of things.
- The interview was taken by both partners but the Creative Director who I will report to was not present.
- They want to me work on a brief for one of their existing clients as a test. Should I do it? Isn't it unethical? They could use my ideas and still not give me the offer, right?
On the plus side, the salary is 30% more than my current job and it is much nearer to my place. But I joined my current place a week ago so really need suggestions on how to navigate this situation and if my concerns hold any merit. Thank you.
