Acceptable to Wear Shorts to First Day of Custodian Training/Work?

So I just got offered a custodian job yesterday at an alternative health college. This is my first official job ever so I'm pretty unsure about a lot of things. I'm supposed to be going in to do training tomorrow and it's going to be around 37 celcius which is pretty freaking hot imo. Is it acceptable for me to go in wearing shorts and a t-shirt as long as they're clean and tidy? I just don't think I'll survive for 4 hours in that heat in jeans and a long sleeve. They don't have AC either from what I can tell.
