Should I go back to my old job?

I was an assistant director for a preschool three years ago and I quit because of the very toxic director/owner. I got a director position right after that.

Unfortunately, there is a lot of instability at my current preschool so I started applying at other schools. One of the schools I applied for had apparently bought out my previous school (where I quit as an assistant director). They are currently looking for a director. I decided to interview and got offered the position.

My question is, will you ever go back to your previous workplace? Has anyone ever had experience with this? How did it go? Did you regret it?
