I've worked as a physical therapist for the last 11 years and have been burnt out for a long time. I'm finally deciding to switch careers and looking at tech schools, and two years at the most of more schooling. A lot of general ed courses I'll already have out of the way. I like being hands on and trouble shooting and fixing things. I like variability in my day and the opportunity to use my hands more, but also a job that does require some higher training and room for advancement. The pay for both of these fields seems decent. Just seeing if anybody can weigh in here who is in these fields, or where they see better opportunities for the future? The BLS does show a 4% decline for water and wastewater operators from 2019-2029. I can't find stats on exactly I & C tech, but more for electrical and electronics engineering technicians which shows a 2% growth. A job search on indeed shows a lot of results for both careers. Any advice or real world experience is appreciated!
