Advice about leaving a recruiting/talent agency.

I find myself in a weird situation where I have a job I like but a talent agency I don’t. I was recruited by the agency after I got my masters degree and have been at this job for 5 years and it’s full time work. The work is interesting and my team is amazing. My supervisor knows I’m invaluable (his words not mine) I feel very secure in my spot. The talent agency who signs my paychecks is apathetic bordering on impotent. In the beginning they were great: lots of attention and checking in, company picnics, peer reward system, etc. Flash forward a few years and there is almost no one left who I know and it seems to be a revolving door of temporary freelancers. I have had zero interaction with them after being told there was no chance for a pay raise, no review process. I’m being told by my supervisor that if I want to renegotiate my pay rate he would back me, but he also said to be careful because, while he could budget more for paying me a higher wage, it would still be up to the talent agency to increase my pay rate (instead of just keeping the extra?). Can I expect my current agency to be straight with me if I explain the situation? Should I consider changing to a new agency? How would I approach a new agency if I already have a job, but need representation? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
