My partner just got an offer for a really awesome job the pay increase is about 55% the position is fully remote. The issue here is he was only able to give a weeks notice due to the company needing to train him ASAP for an incoming project. He gave notice to his current employer the ceo and HR are located out of state. The CEO when told expressed disappointment in the break of courtesy and was pretty aggressive and them emailed to confirm he would be leaving the company on 6/23 two weeks from today. That’s not an option. We live in San Diego, CA and his current wages are poverty wages he qualifies for food stamps. This seems really weird. I understand it’s proper to give two weeks, but it can’t always be done.What is the best way to handle this.
