I'm in the process of interviewing for two jobs.
I've done two interviews for both, although one wants to do one or two more (with more exec members). This job (Job 1) sounds more interesting to me (in terms of the work), so I'd honestly prefer this job over the other. The other process (for Job 2) is pretty much done, from what I know, but I have not heard back about a decision yet.
The job I'd prefer told me recently that they're looking to hire to start early September. I don't know if that means the process will take that long or if I could at least expect an offer sooner and just wait to start then.
Any tips on navigating this? I don't want to risk upsetting Job 1 by rushing the process, especially since the interview process is taking some time with vacation schedules, but I also would hate to be in a position where I'm forced to take Job 2 because Job 1 is taking too long. I currently have a job (I hate it and want out ASAP), so assuming I receive an offer I could also turn down Job 2 and hold out for Job 1, but I'd hate to turn down Job 2's offer and risk not being offered Job 1.
I think the best next step would be to ask Job 1 if they could provide clarity as to what the timeline looks like (interview until August/September vs. wrap up interviews in July and start later), but beyond that, I'm stuck on how to navigate properly.
Thanks!
