I have a job offer that's about $30k more than I currently make. I am very torn on what to do because I'm happy where I'm at - however, I've done research on salary for my position and someone with my level of experience in my same role, industry, and company size in my area makes on average $15k more than I currently make.
Is it shady to want a counter offer/pay raise?
For context, I was actually not looking because I love where I work, but it's also important to me that I am compensated fairly. I have a boss who will always go to bat for me, but I am wondering if this is a shady tactic.
