is this an acceptable way to quit?

can i send my manager a text saying “I got a job in my hometown so I will be gone the whole summer. Let me know if you need me to work any days before I leave next week.” I already put in a request for a month off by text because i said i wanted to go home that she said she would probably not approve a couple days ago, and she usually gives me my schedule on a weekly basis but hasn’t given me it for this week yet. is that text clear and professional enough?
