What is your opinion on the future of catering/bartending jobs? Are they dead for the foreseeable future?

My friend is a caterer and does a lot of bartending/private party events. He also does modeling but the majority of his income is from the event stuff (and a lot of it is in cash, thus he doesn’t get much from regular UI). He’s confident that in a couple months his work options will be back to normal, but I’m a little more pessimistic and am telling him not to rely on this, as who knows when this industry will be up and running again. People might not even want to have parties and private events for a while. We live in NYC if that makes any difference ... am I being overly pessimistic and worrying for nothing?
