Is it a good sign if the interviewer said that she will ask HR to conduct the background and references check?

I had a phone interview. I think that I did decent except for one question which I did not expect them to ask. I think I gave a below average answer for that question as I couldn't think of any examples. However, at the end, the interviewer said that she is going to send my information to the HR to conduct the background and references check. Did I do enough in the interview to satisfy the interviewer?
