How long to wait to call back?

Interviews went really well with a great firm and they’ve contacted my references on Friday. Both have told me they gave glowing appraisals of my work and the lady who talked to them seemed enthusiastic to work with me.

Because it’s now Tuesday I’m a little worried that something may have happened. I know that Reference checks are one of the last steps, so I’m getting a impatient.

If I don’t hear from the company, when should I reach out and ask about my status?
