I interviewed for a company back in the beginning of March and it went really well, but they went with another candidate. They told me it was a VERY hard decision, but it came down to being realistic with the opportunities for advancement as my experience is more senior level. I followed up with the recruiter to thank him and the team and to keep me in mind for any future job openings if they come available.
Fast forward to today and I got a profile view on linkedIn randomly by that same hiring manager at that company. I thought it was super weird, then find out later in the day they reposted the job listing a couples hours after the hiring manager viewed my profile. Something must have happened with the candidate they made an offer to. The profile view also makes me wonder if they were trying to see if I was still available and hadn’t switched companies yet?
So my question is, should I reach back out to the recruiter and ask about being considered again or should I not waste my time? Just wondering if there is a slim chance it could work out as I really liked the hiring manager and the team I’d be working with.
