I am 20f, and I have been working at Panera for five months as a side gig for college. Originally, I signed up to be a cashier - but every day I’m doing dining room and cleaning things as well as filling In as a cashier whenever there’s nobody else around.
I don’t have any issues as a cashier - I don’t make mistakes and I complete orders kindly, correctly, and fast. But they won’t let me do drive through, or learn any other position because im “not ready” and won’t let me work as main cashier. So i, being only 100 lbs and not that strong, am being forced to do heavy lifting and cleaning that has caused me chronic soreness.
I want to stay and expand my skills, but I don’t think I can physically and mentally continue working as a janitor. I’m in extracurriculars and am in pre med at college, and I KNOW this position is beneath me.
