I graduated from college in Fall 2020 with a Business MIS degree and one of my greatest regrets was not landing an internship before or during that time. Even with the pandemic screwing me over, my peers still managed to secure some. So now I'm not a student, I'm struggling to qualify for these jobs with ridiculous 2-5 years experience required for entry level (one was even categorized entry level and required 7-10 years experience, huh?!).
Does anyone have advice on finding internships (paid or unpaid) after college? There seems to be few if any internships that take recent grads, and even so time is ticking for me since I won't be considered a recent grad soon. Even if I don't agree with the volunteering or unpaid internships (and their predatory or potentially toxic nature), that might be the only option for me in a dead-end. I've also heard of fellowships, micro-internships, online courses and certifications, etc. What are your thoughts? Any advice, or anyone in the same boat?
