I left my job over a year ago on a leave of absence, but now it is time to decide if I go back. Job pays very well in Canada $8k USD per month pre-tax, but now going back to Canada is difficult(tests, quarantine) and work doesn't want to extend the leave to accommodate that. However, I have an opportunity to make decent money overseas that would almost make the same amount of money on a net tax basis.
The job in Canada has no future, and likely would be trying to find something overseas/in Canada to move away again, but pays well.. the job overseas would on a net tax basis pay almost as much(and cost of living much lower), but it is only adjacent to what I was doing, so I don't know if I could do a good job at it, but also would be learning new skills.
Hope I explained that well enough, thoughts on what to do?
