Unable to cover my shift, what now?

Hi so basically I let my manager know a week ahead I won’t be able to cover my shift this coming week and asked to switch with someone else’s and they instantly just said: “I thought that was your availability” and I said yes but I can’t cover it just this once and hasn’t replied to anything I’ve said so far and I’m not sure if I’m just not suppose to show up or? Because I have tried to ask other people who could possibly switch with me and some of them aren’t sure because the manager probably would get upset with them. Anyway so would it be ok if I just don’t show up even though I’ve told them and asked others to switch shifts? Any advice?
