I have a long verifiable, successful career in leading high performing sales teams. When I took my current job I already had a job was reached out to by a recruiter. I was even asked by the hiring manager at the time why I wanted the job, I seemed overqualified. I stated at the time I had researched the company and since it was one of the best places to work I wanted to get my foot in and show what I’m made of and maybe when we expand I can lead my own team. He agreed. Now almost two years later, I’m a high performing sales rep. Top 5. I’ve personally expanded the region and they are now hiring for a new manager here. It was down to me and one other applicant on my team who has 0 management experience but 3 years at the company and I’ve had 1.5. She’s also a performer just no managerial experience. They are giving her the job but asking me to train her how to manage and hire. Am I the only one who feels that’s just wrong? Why should I train her and get no additional goal pay? The company merged with another and since I have been miserable they don’t hire and promote based on skills and who is most qualified they promote their friends and pets and I don’t kiss ass so... guess that’s why. Since I didn’t get the role I’m considering looking for something that fits my skill set better and pays more. I wouldn’t quit until I found something but am I crazy to think this is wrong?
