Hi all! I've been stressing recently because of a job listing. I fit every requirement for it. They wanted 2 years of experience and I have 6. I finally feel comfy in getting a job based on my credentials. But there is an issue....My former Supervisor essentially ghosted me. I had to quit my last job as my elderly parent had preexisting health issues; diabetes and a break in three limbs. My parent was so weak there was no way they could take the virus at the same time. Unfortunatly after awhile I was told either come in or resign. So I resigned. I would absolutely normally show up and do 2 weeks but I couldn't cuz of this stupid virus. After I emailed my resignation I heard nothing. No email, no call, no nothing. Contacted H.R inquiring on any exit paperwork and was told nothing needed to be done.
It's been months. I finally found a great job for me but on the website it asks for the place of bussiness's phone number. I put the H.R director's phone number because she would have documentation of me being there. But they also had a section for my supervisor's name. If they contact him it's over. I worked there for almost 4 years. If I remove it from my resume wouldn't it look bad? I would have 2 years experience without it which would fit the requirement but wouldn't it look weird?
I need a job, and I'm already going into this with defeat on my face. I can't take not having a job, and this stupid pandemic anymore. I'm so tired and don't know what to do. It is the perfect job for me. When I worked at my old place I never had an issue. Everyone liked me including my old supervisor. This past year was horrible.
P.S My old job was at a small educational institute.
