Offer

So, in summary, I am in a time crunch due to my visa status working in the U.S. I received an email saying the I have gotten the job and is asking for my availability ASAP for training and work. The official offer/contract has not been emailed to me yet but the employer mentions in the email.

Offer from Company A:

"The formal offer letter and contract will be sent to you soon. Kindly respond to my email with any questions or concern in mind and please notify us if you are planning to accept the offer, pending contract"

Now I really like the opportunity but I have some other companies (B and C) that I am still waiting on their decision and would like to make my decision from there. I would like to earn some time and politely have some more time to think about this before I make my final decision. How should I go about this?

I suppose since the official letter/contract has not been sent to me I would like to wait it out and see what they have to offer. Earning time is the most crucial point here b/c although I know that I have this job secured, I would like to wait on other companies for their decisions next week. So I want your advice on how to stall time properly and notify Company A that I want some more time to make my decision without blowing the opportunity.

I was thinking of sending an email along the lines of (in summary):

"I really appreciate the offer, and thrilled to be part of your company etc,

"If you do not mind could you explain what is included in the offer insurance coverage etc."

"Earlies I can start coming to work is (latest day I want to stall to hear back from other companies) "

Edit: can I maybe say I accept the offer and change my decision when I receive my official contract if necessary if I change my mind though this sounds like a bad move?
