Low wages, high healthcare costs

Some of you may or may not need to buy and use health, dental and vision benefits

People say, "this company OFFERS benefits," but neglect to identify the COST to buy and use them.

I've read some posts where some people have indicated that one of their parents (a divorcee or married and unemployed) one, has healthcare issues that require health, and prescription plans to work.

This has nothing to do with disability or Medicaid.

Medicaid expansion isnt available everywhere and it does not pay doctors well at all. The experienced doctors dont have to take Medicaid patients. Many hospitals in rural towns are closing due to lack of people having (group) health plans.

It feels as though employers are paying low to avoid hiring someone who isnt entry level. There are low, mid, high ranges in all jobs.

State Govt jobs post that up front. Private sector does not.

Eitherway offering the low end means the person cant afford to buy and use healthcare benefits. Dental is costly too because it doesnt cover everything

I'm discouraged. Ive been out of work since March. Its not my resume or interview skills. My background is multi-industry.

A 2nd iob isnt possible for me.

I need that day job to be adequate.

I know about healthcare. Discounts have nothing to do with the medications I need. Subsidies are a joke and anyone who is trying ACA good luck. When you dont forecast your income properly you'll owe back the IRS

Roommates arent an option. Im middle age like your parents. I never married. I'm struggling on my own. And I think the employers want to keep the workforce younger since they dont need as much healthcare.
