Hello, I'm a translator. I applied for a job and suddenly got an email saying they would pay me for the test I took to apply. This is sometimes the case but this was sudden as no one told me prior I'd be getting paid for the test I took. They asked for my SSN and bank info to pay me for the test. I asked if I could provide my SSN number over the phone but they said they don't take information overcall. I also don't even know yet if I have been accepted for the position. I had applied around a month ago, which isn't too long ago. Should I just give my SSN? They are not an American company if that's important.
